I officially graduated from Miami University with my bachelor's in American Studies! This has been a wild three-year roller coaster. I did not know what to expect when I initially stepped foot onto MU's Hamilton Campus, but I knew big things were in store. Back then, I told myself that 2020 was gonna be my year, and even though there was a virus, I still made it! This degree came with many hardships, but it brought along new friendships, intelligent professors whom I looked up to, enjoyable experiences, and personal growth. When I initially agreed to take American Studies, I thought I would only learn about history. However, I got to explore my favorite realms of psychology and topics regarding other countries, and surprisingly enough, I even learned about business. This degree also helped me to discover that America's roots are deeply sewn into a dream of happiness, freedom, and belonging.
As we, the class of 2020, finally move our tassels and head off into our next chapter, remember the most significant point we discovered, happiness depends upon your own actions and can only be fulfilled by you. There will be moments in life where you might feel alone, but with those moments will come ones where everything clicks and aligns to highlight you are on the right path. Keep your head up, and remember that the best is yet to come!
Now off to my MLIS (Master of Information & Library Science) at the University of Kentucky! Here is to the future!
